Base64 Encoder / Decoder
Base64 represents binary data with 64 plain characters. Use it for data URIs, email attachments, basic auth headers and APIs that only accept text.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your input and files are not uploaded to any server.
How to use
- Type text, or choose a file to encode.
- Press Encode or Decode. Turn on URL-safe mode for JWTs and URLs (- and _ instead of + and /).
- Copy the result, or download decoded binary data as a file.
Examples
“مرحبا” → 2YXYsdit2KjYpw==
“user:pass” → dXNlcjpwYXNz

Check it yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, select the Network tab and use the tool. Your file never appears in an upload request. Once this page is saved for offline use, you can also disconnect from the internet and keep working. Ads and anonymous visit statistics, when enabled, make their own requests, but they never receive your files or text.
Frequently asked questions
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Anyone can decode it. It is an encoding for transport, not a way to hide data.
Why is the output bigger?
Base64 uses 4 characters for every 3 bytes, so the result is about 33% larger than the input.
